A few months ago, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the all-new EQS SUV. Basically, it is just an SUV version of the EQS sedan, but at the same time, the car is an electric version of the current GLS.
The new EQS SUV has entered production at the Tuscaloosa plant in Alabama. Why? Because this also makes the GLS.
But one important thing is that the new Mercedes EQS SUV is the first electric car produced by Mercedes-Benz in the US. The process takes place on a 985-foot (300-meter) production line with more than 70 workstations.
“We have a highly skilled and motivated team that has absolutely delivered in the successful product launch of the new EQS SUV. Our Team Members in Tuscaloosa have shown a lot of flexibility, energy, and commitment in helping us to achieve milestone after milestone since our first Mercedes-Benz rolled off the production line more than 25 years ago”, said Michael Goebel, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz US International.
