Mercedes-Benz has decided to come at the 2023 Munich Motor Show with a special concept car. It is named Concept CLA-Class, and as the name suggest, it will be the muse for the future compact electric cars of the German manufacturer.

The new Mercedes-Benz Concept CLA-Class is based ont the Modular Architecture (MMA) and one important fact is that this platform can support 800V. Why is that good? Because the battery will be able to charge very fast. At 250 kW to be more specific.

According to Mercedes-Benz, in 15 minutes at 250 kW charging station the battery will be able to gather enough energy for an estimated 248 miles of range. And this is fast.

On the CLA Concept, the motor is mounted at the rear axle, but the MMA platform can support dual-motor layout. One at the front and one at the back.

A series production model based on the new electric architecture is expected to arrive by the end of 2024.
