Mercedes-Benz has announced today that the A-Class, CLA and GLA will feature new engines and new 4MATIC versions. First up, there is a new A220 4MATIC variant which comes with a turbocharged 2.0 liter, four-cylinder unit rated at 184 horsepower and 300 Nm peak of torque.

The engine resources are put to the ground via a seven speed 7G-DCT transmission and thanks to the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. As a result, the car can sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds, while the engine consumption is clocked at 6.3 L/100 km (37.3 mpg US / 44.8 mpg UK).

The second model offered by Mercedes-Benz is the CLA 200 CDI which eschews the previous 1.8 liter unit for the new 2.2 liter engine. This one is rated at 136 horsepower and 300 Nm and can be connected to a six speed manual transmission or to a 7G-DCT gear box. It also can be ordered with the 7G-DCT transmission and the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.
