It was yesterday when Mazda announced the pricing of the new MX-5 RF. But today, the Japanese car manufacturer released a press statement from which we find out that the production of the MX-5 RF model has started in Japan.
The new model is built alongside the fully convertible MX-5 as well as the Fiat 124 Spider. The manufacturing process is taking place at the Ujina Plant No. 1 near Mazda’s global headquarters in Hiroshima.
According to the Japanese car manufacturer, the first units will be shipped out to dealers in North America and Europe before they even go on sale in the Japanese domestic market. And this is good.
The new Mazda MX-5 RF is available in the Launch Edition version and it is based on the Grand Touring trim level. The car has a starting price of $33,850 for the SKYACTIV-MT six-speed manual and $34,925 for models with the six-speed automatic transmission.
