Reuters is reporting Porsche’s CEO Matthias Müller will be named Volkswagen Group CEO. The official statement will be made tomorrow following the Supervisory Board meeting.
At the same meeting, it is believed that Audi’s research and development boss Ulrich Hackenberg along with Porsche’s engine chief Wolfgang Hatz will be forced to resign.
In addition, Michael Horn, Volkswagen USA CEO will be replaced with Skoda chief Winfried Vahland.
As you already know, all these changes are a consequence of the dieselgate scandal involving a unique device installed on the Type EA 189 2.0-liter turbodiesel engines in order to manipulate emissions tests.
According to other reports, the smaller 1.6 TDI engine is also affected by the scheme.
