As the 2012 Geneva Motor Show has kicked off, Italian automaker Maserati has published new photos with the GranTurismo Sport and told us what this new model is capable of in terms of performance.
The new GrandTurismo Sport replaces the GranTurismo S and comes with a 4.7-litre V8 under its beautifully shaped metal sheets, capable of developing 460 HP (338 kW) and 520 Nm of peak torque. This engine is coupled to an lectro actuated gearbox featuring MC Shift technology which helps the car rocket from 0 to 100 Km/h in 4.7 seconds and achieve a maximum speed of 300 Km/h.
Apart from the 6-speed electro actuated gearbox, with dry twin-plate clutch (not available in North America) the GranTurismo Sport is also available with a ZF 6-speed automatic, with the first offering a more involving driving experience while the second enhances driving comfort.
This new version also benefits from a revised suspension which uses the Sport Skyhook damping control system, a new front bumper designed to improve the air flow and the cooling of the front brakes, an impressive braking system which employs the Brembo dual-cast technology and LED enhanced headlights.
The new model introduces the new Blu Sofisticato body colour and at the interior the level of luxury and craftsmanship have been taken one step further.
