Lotus has published the first pictures and details of the new Evija Fittipaldi special edition. As the name suggest, this variant of the Evija is dedicated to Emerson Fittipaldi, the legendary Brazilian race car driver which won Formula 1 in 1972 with Team Lotus.
As you can simply imagine, the new Evija will use some exterior nods to the Type 72, which Fittipaldi drove to five victories in the 11-race 1972 F1 season.
The body is painted in black and gold, and according to Lotus, the colors were applied by hand. There are also some exposed carbon fiber elements, while the number 8 is mounted on the B-pillar. At the back, the rear wing has some decals celebrating the F1 wins that season.
Inside the cabin there is Fittipaldi’s signature and some black and gold contrasts. The all-electric new special version has the same specs as the regular Evija. It has quad motors with 2,011 HP and 1,704 Nm of torque.
The new Lotus Evija Fittipaldi will be built in just 8 units.
