Electric vehicles have managed to become very popular, but this is a great news. The London Fire Brigade has acquired a fleet of BMW i3 electric vehicles.

Along with another five hybrids of undisclosed make and model, the London Fire Brigade replaced 60 Vauxhall Astras. According to the same report, the BMW i3s are expected to remain in service for the newxt five year. The German models are also equipped with gasoline generators and have exterior special scheme.

We are talking about special yellow and red livery, blue strobe lights and sirens.

"I am proud that the Brigade is leading the move from diesel to electric, which will make a big difference to the air quality for Londoners. Who knows, perhaps in the future we will also be the first Brigade to run a fleet of electric fire engines", said fire Commissioner Ron Dobson.
