As the name indicates the newly introduced Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni edition is the rear wheel drive version of the company’s best selling model that is is powered by the same V10 unit that unleashes 550 horsepower (405 kW).
The Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni edition honors one of the Italian manufacturer’s veteran test drivers that was hired back in 1967. Valentino Balboni has helped in testing and fine-tuning the company’s supercars for decades from the Miura model produced in the 60s to the current Gallardo and Murcielago models.
The Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni edition has undergone extensive work to accommodate the way power is transmitted to the rear wheels in a safe and optimized maner and with a total weight of only 1,380 Kg the car can sprint from 0 to 100 Km/h in 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 320 Km/h (199 mph).
Only 250 units Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni edition will be produced and price starts at 162,000 Euros in Europe, 137,900 GBP in UK and 219,800 USD in U.S.
