Kia has officially unveiled the EV6 GT electric car at The Quail, a motorsports gathering held during Monterey Car Week. The performance electric car comes with two electric motors, and it was tweaked to deliver performance around a track.

Both electric motors are feature 576 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque. The all-wheel-drive car can run from not to 100 km/h in only three and a half seconds, and the top speed is clocked at 260 km/h (162 mph). And this is a first for an electric car, since I can’t remember any other mass-produced battery-powered vehicle reaching that top speed.

The EV6 GT is equipped with an electronic limited-slip differential and with the larger 77.4 kWh battery pack.

The EV6 (not the GT one) will also be available with only one electric motor, or with dual motors but less power. The range winner will offer over 500 kilometers with one charge. Speaking of charging, the EV6 can reach from 10 to 80% SOC in just 18 minutes at a high-performance charger point (over 250 kW power).
