Some of the retired pilots who once made history in WRC are now taking different challenges to earn their popularity. It is also the case of Juha Kankkunen, four-time World Rally Champion, that managed to set a new Guinness World Record for the highest speed ever recorded with a tractor.
Using a Valtra T234 tractor, he managed to reach a speed of 130 km/h (80 mph) riding on the Nokian Hakkapeliitta TRI tires, “the first winter tire for tractors”. The pilot used a 2.3-km (1.43 miles) long track, which has a 50-meter long speed recording area.
