Jeep has prepared a big surprise for its fans. In order to respond to Ford’s new Bronco, the officials have decided to come up with a new version of the Wrangler.

Actually, it is not a new variant, it is just a new package which can be ordered for the four-door Wrangler Rubicon and the V8-powered Rubicon 392.

It is named the Xtreme Recon package and it comes with the following novelties: 35-inch tires straight from the factory for the first time wrapped in BF Goodrich KO2 All-Terrain tire (LT315/70R17C), a 1.5 inch suspension lift and 4.56:1 axle ratio. The adjustments result in an SUV with 12.9 inches of ground clearance, and the capacity to ford 33.6 inches of water.

The Rubicon also gets a new optional 4.88:1 axle ratio, and when equipped with the six-speed manual transmission, it gives the Wrangler a best-in-class 100:1 crawl ratio to maximize torque at the wheels for low-speed driving on the roughest terrain.

Jeep has not yet revealed pricing for the package, but orders are being taken for deliveries beginning in August.
