In order to compete with the more experienced European rivals, Infiniti has to offer a great engine, capable of delivering best performance in its class. The Japanese manufacturer will offer its most advanced V6 unit ever, featured in the Q50 and Q60 models.
Production of the all-new 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine has started at Nissan Motor Corporation’s engine manufacturing facility, the Iwaki Plant in Japan. This engine is exclusively offered on Infiniti vehicles.
The new V6 engine is the lightest, most powerful, cleanest and most fuel-efficient V6 engine that Infiniti has ever offered. The 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo is available in two performance levels – 300 or 400 horsepower. It is an all-new engine from the new and exclusive VR-series powertrain family.
The first application of the new engine family will be in the 2016 Infiniti Q50 sports sedan. It will also be available for the all-new Q60 sports coupe, which was recently unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
