Fiftgear has tested the Infiniti FX50S, shot a review video and told us what they think about Nissan’s luxury brand SUV.
The Infiniti FX50S borrows the chassis found on the 370Z, is 4WD with a limited slip differential and the car’s total weight is close to 2,000 Kg. There are 3 engine choices offered for the Infiniti FX50S which are a 3.0-litre diesel, a 3.0-litre V6 petrol plus a 5.0-litre V8 packing 385 bhp for the range topping variant.
Power is put to the ground via a 7-speed automatic gearbox with magnesium paddle shifters and accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in the fastest version takes 5.8 seconds, while fuel consumption is rated at 21 mpg.
The Infiniti FX50S price is 54,000 GBP which is a bit much for an SUV that doesn’t quite offer the same luxury and performance as an BMW X5 or a Porsche Cayenne.

Infiniti FX50S review video
I just purchased the Infinity FX 50s and first off it comes with 390 hp not 385. I have to say I could not disagree with this review more. I owned the Porsche Cheyenne and the Range Rover before and I have to say the Infinity is light years ahead of the range rover at least what handling concerns and I the Porsche who is boring boring boring in it’s interior. I agree with the assessment on the rear rear space of the car. But the engine is a monster and I love the vehicles response time and 21 inch wheels. Besides if Range rover would ever get their quality under control they would not keep loosing customers like me. Infinity has given me 0 quality issues with the QX56 and I am confident the FX 50 will be just as good.
