Hyundai has uncovered the wagon version i30 before its world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The wagon will join the 5-door hatchback version in order to expand the i30’s appeal in the C-segment range, and as you can imagine the strong points in this case are the increased trunk space due to the vehicle’s longer body.
The Hyundai i30 wagon is 185 mm longer than the 5-door sibling, with a total length of 4485 mm, and features a best in class luggage compartment that is able to accommodate 528-litres worth of luggage (expandable to 1,642 litres with the rear passenger seats folded).
The i30 wagon will be available with the same three gasoline engines and three diesels as the five-door model, which means power will range from 90 to 135 PS.
Allan Rushforth, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of
Hyundai Motor Europe, said: "The New Generation i30 has been widely
praised for its style, quality, and value. Our new wagon offers all of
those attributes plus even greater load-carrying capacity. We expect it
to appeal strongly to those looking for stylish and flexible
practicality, especially active families."
