Honda UK and MUGEN Euro have joined forces and developed a sports hybrid based on the CR-Z which will be comparable to the Civic Type R in terms of performance.
The car will be called the Honda CR-Z iCF Mugen and will be around 50 percent more powerful than the standard version. In fact the the automaker claims this hybrid pocket rocket will produce 195 PS and will be capable of reaching more than 130 mph.
The 1.5-litre engine from the stock variant has received a centrifugal forced air induction system, a charge-air cooler and induction system and a remapped ECU, and the car’s new 0 to 62 mph acceleration time is 6.1 seconds, meaning it is over 3 seconds faster than the standard car.
The Honda CR-Z iCF Mugen price will start at 24,000 GBP, and the first exemplars will be available for test drives through the eight Honda UK MUGEN dealers starting from Spring 2012.
