I’m pretty sure that you know that Porsche will soon launch a performance version of the current Cayenne. It will be based on the coupe version of the model and it will be offered only as a coupe. So, no classic SUV silhouette.

We don’t have a name or technical details (aside from the fact that it will have a V8 4.0 liter engine).

In order to promote the new performance variant of the Porsche Cayenne, Porsche took one unit around the Nürburgring. According to Porsche, the Cayenne Coupe was certified as a series production vehicle and it managed to produce a new record for “SUV, off-road vehicle, van, pick-up” category.

With Lars Kern behind the wheel, the SUV scored 7 minutes 38.925 seconds around the 12.94-mile configuration of the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The old record was set by Audi RS Q8 (7:42.253).

The car was equipped with a racing seat (for the driver) and a roll cage.
