Back in 2009, Ford started the production for the EcoBoost engine range. Now, the US company is proud to announce us that he managed to reach two million EcoBoost engines.
Currently, Ford is producing 100.000 EcoBoost engines every month, a big increase compared to the 2012, when he managed to build 65.000 motors per month.
The two millionth EcoBoost engine is a 2.0 liter and it will be mounted on an Escape produced in Louisville, Kentucky.
According to Ford, almost 80% of its global model will be delivered with an EcoBoost engine by the end of this year.
In case you didn’t know, the EcoBoost engine family has four motor types: a three cylinder 1.0 liter, two 4 cylinder of 1.6 and 2.0 liter and a V6 unit of 3.5 liter.
