According to the British press Ferrari’s Luca di Montezemolo has admitted that they are considering using V6 engines in the future, in an effort to reduce consumption and CO2 emissions.
6-cylinder engines are known to be used by Ferrari in the past however he said that if this kind of powerplant will be fitted on the company’s future models, it should have no downside as far as driver’s enjoyment.
As far as V8 engine, di Montezemolo said that efficiency will get increased due to new technology and electronics, plus he hopes that Formula 1 will continue to provide new ideas that could get implemented into road cars.
