For their latest video, Motortrend decided to create a comparison
test between two of the fastest machines coming out of Italy : the
Ferrari 458 Italia vs the Ducati 1198S.
The head to head
comparison involves accelerating the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Ducati
1198S on a drag strip to see which is faster, and also race them against
the clock on the 1.8-miles long Streets of Willow track, near Los
Angeles.
In both cases the Ducati 1198S emerges as the winner, but even though this test is comparing apples to oranges, Motortrend points out that in the real world there won’t be many who will come close to what Ducati’s pro rider can achieve on a 1198S, and also acknowledges that the Ferrari 458 Italia is one of the all time greats.
