EPA has announced today that the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has a highway fuel economy of 22 mpg US. If you are a "green man" you definitely won’t buy this gasoline eating machine but if you love the power and the straight speed this is your car.
The fuel consumption was measured with a Challenger SRT Hellcat equipped with an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. With the standard six-speed manual the car will return 21 mpg US.
But in our opinion this is a good figure for a car equipped with a huge V8 6.2 liter HEMI engine rated at 707 horsepower and 880 Nm peak of torque. And don’t forget that you get this amount of power for just $59,995 USD. Unfortunately dealers will bump the model’s price, because the production is limited.
