Volkswagen CEO Matthias Mueller has reiterated that there are no plans to offer compensation to European owners of cars affected by the Dieselgate scandal.

Last month we have informed you that in US, the 2.0 liter TDI EA 189 engine users will get some great compensations. We are talking about 5.100 to 10.000 USD bonus and lots of other incentives. But the European customers won’t get this treatment.

"You don’t have to be a mathematician to realize that compensation at arbitrarily high levels would overwhelm Volkswagen", said Mueller about a possible compensation for Europe owners. More than that, the fix for the European models won’t have an adverse effect on the cars.
