Volkswagen has announced that approximately 11 million cars from all over the globe have installed the defeat device that was able to trick the emission test.

As you may have read, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in United States discovered that around 480.000 cars have been equipped with a defeat device made to cheat during the emission testing, but now, VW says that 11 units are featuring this software.

We are talking about the cars equipped with the Type EA189 turbodiesel unit (2.0 TDI, Euro 5 compliant).

In order to fix the problem, Volkswagen is allocating about €6.5 billion. After a few hours, Martin Winterkorn has released a video message. Here is it.
