We’re getting closer and closer to this 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, so automakers and tuners are starting to offer details with what will de on display at their stands from September.
The German aftermarket specialists from Carlsson for example will bring a refined version of the Mercedes GL Grand Edition called the CGL45 this year, on which they fitted an aerodynamic package and added an extra 15 percent more performance to the engine.
The Carlsson CGL45 Mercedes GL Grand Edition exterior components have been shaped using the wind tunnel, and these refer to the wider wheel arches, the front spoiler and front spoiler lip plus the rear skirt. The German SUV has also been enhanced with an imposing chrome finished radiator grille featuring the tuner’s leaping horse logo, LED daytime running lights in the front spoiler lip, 22 inch Vredestein high-performance 305/35 ZR22 tyres, and a stainless steel exhaust system featuring four oval end pipes.
The interior of the Carlsson CGL45 Mercedes GL Grand Edition has been completely personalized as well, with the tuner making use of the highest-quality nappa leather, Alcantara, wood and stainless steel. The kit also include aluminium pedals, a signed plaque on the central console, embossed headrests featuring the Carlsson logo and illuminated door sills.
In terms of performance, the 3.0-litre V6 powering the Carlsson CGL45 Mercedes GL Grand Edition has been increased from 265 HP (195 kW) and 620 Nm of torque to 310 HP (228 kW) and 700 Nm.
