Cadillac will launch the new Escalade IQ on August 9 in New York City. The announcement of the new full-size electric SUV was made thanks to a teaser photo.

We don’t have any technical specs of the future electric SUV. The only thing we can say is that it will be based on the General Motors Ultium EV platform, the same architecture used by the current Hummer EV.

Cadillac will build the new Escalade IQ at its Factory Zero Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center, a factory that already assembles the Hummer EV. In the same unit, GM will also build the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra Denali electric pickups.

Escalade IQ won’t be the first electric car to be unveiled by Cadillac this year. According to the plans, there are two other electric models scheduled to be revealed by the end of 2023.
