On the second episode from Top Gear’s 13th season Richard Hammond and the Stig compete in an epic drag race involving the Bugatti Veyron vs the McLaren F1, two of the fastest roadcars ever built.
The Bugatti Veyron is priced at 1 million GBP and its 16 cylinder engine outputs no less than 1001 HP (746.5 kW) at 6000 rpm and 1250 Nm of torque (922 ft lbs) at 3300 rpm. Top speed for the Bugatti Veyron is 252 mph and from 0 to 60 mph there are only 2.6 seconds needed.
The McLaren F1 is evaluated today at 2 million GBP and power is extracted from a 6.1-litre BMW engine that spits out 627 bhp (467kW) at 7400 rpm and 649 Nm of torque (479 ft lbs) at 5600 rpm. The McLaren F1 top speed is clocked at 240 mph while accelerating from 0 to 60 mph takes 3.2 seconds.
