The Bavarian automaker has revealed their new M Performance range comprising of four diesel models : the BMW M550d the X5 M50d and the X6 M50d.
All these models which by the way, will not be available in the US, are equipped with the all-new tri-turbo inline-six 3.0-litre diesel featuring common-rail direct injection with piezo injectors which produces 381 HP (280 kW) at 4,000 – 4,400 rpm and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) of torque at 2,000 – 3,000 rpm.
Aesthetically the M Performance range will be distinguished from the rest of the range through a series of features such as the M style body kits, metallic grey exterior mirrors, trapezoidal tailpipes finished in glossy black, unique light-weight alloys measuring 19 or 20 inch in diameter and M Performance badges.
At the interior the BMW M550d, X5 M50d and the X6 M50d feature Alcantara and Nappa/Cloth leather upholstery, M sport seats, an M leather steering wheel with gearshift paddles, BMW Individual
roof liner in Anthracite and trim strips in Brushed Aluminium
Shadow (BMW X5 M50d,
BMW X6 M50d) or Aluminium
Hexagon (BMW M550d xDrive). 
Also specific to the M Performance diesels are the 8-speed sports automatic transmission, the xDrive AWD system, the Auto Start Stop technology, the M tuned suspension, bodyshell mounting, engine and transmission mounting.
The BMW M Performance range will premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March and will go on sale on the automaker’s home market on May 12. Pricing will start at 80,800 Euro for the M550d xDrive, at 83,750 Euro for the M550d xDrive Touring, at 82,300 Euro for the X5 M50d and at 85,800 Euro for the X6 M50d.
