We came across new info that might offer a hint to what BMW has in mind
for the future. According to recently surfaced details, the German
automaker has applied for registering the M2 and BMW M2 trademarks at
both the German patent office and the US patent and trademark office
(USPTO).
It remains to be seen if the BMW M2 will represent an
evolution from the 1 Series M, or just the German automaker taking the
necessary measures to protect this badge. This could also mean that BMW
is preparing the 2 Series on which they will later apply the M
treatment.
Either way we like where BMW is heading with this,
