Ian Robertson, one of BMW officials, has confirmed for our Automotive News colleagues the plans for an ultra-luxurious version of the upcoming X7.

As you can imagine, the BMW official was coy on specifics but it confirmed that it will cost more than 100,000 USD and will come with a four-seat interior.

More than that, the car will have a special exterior styling in order to distinguish it from the mainstream variant. Another rumor was saying that the X7 will share some components with the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. But Ian Robertson dismissed this idea.

More than that it also downplayed comparisons to the rumored Mercedes-Maybach GLS. He said that BMW doesn’t need a Maybach competitor because they already have the Rolls-Royce brand.

Another important fact is that the BMW official confirmed plans for an all-new flagship sedan. The development of the car is well under way.

Last but not least is the BMW X2 (name not confirmed). Ian Robertson told us that we should expect to see another small SUV which will be delivered in 2017.
