The Bavarian car maker has published photos with the long wheelbase version BMW 3 Series in advance of its world premiere scheduled at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show.
As with any LWB model we are manly talking about extra leg room for the rear seat passengers, and if you want the exact measurement then you should know that the 3 Series LWB is 2,920 mm long, meaning 11 cm longer than the regular version.
On the outside the car is distinguished by the longer rear doors and the restyled chrome window frame which extends to the C pillar, while under the bonnet the car is offered with three engine choices : a 2.0-litre turbo for the 320 Li and 328 Li models and a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline 6-cylinder unit for the 335 Li.
The 320 Li and 328 Li develop 181 HP and 242 HP respectively while the 335 Li is capable of outputting 303 horses.
An 8-speed automatic gearbox directing power to the rear is standard on all models.
Apart from the the long wheelbase 3 Series, BMW will also bring the new 6 Series Gran Coupe, M6 Coupe, X3 xDrive28i and the facelifted X6 at the Auto China 2012 in Beijing.
