Rumors that were mentioning the Audi RS4 being axed have circulated
across the web some time ago. We are happy to announced that those were
indeed just a bunch of rumors, because an Audi RS4 Avant test mule has
been recently caught by spy photographers while doing runs on the
Nurburgring track in Germany.
Based on the S4 Avant but featuring a
series of exterior tweaks, the Audi RS4 Avant test mule looks like it
borrowed its wheels from the RS5, and besides the modified front bumper
it is also same to assume that the car has also been fitted with bigger
brakes and a wider track.
Under the bonnet however things remain a mystery, as the company
could fit a milder version of their 4.0-litre V8, which in this case
might develop produce between 450 and 500 horses, or even the 4.2-litre
V8 from the TS5, which power also rated somewhere around 450 HP.
According to speculations the
Audi RS4 Avant could make its appearance on the automotive scene in
2012, and when it does it will have to face strong competition from
rivals like the BMW M3 and the Mercedes C63 AMG.
