Audi will bring the RS Q3 Concept at this 2012 Beijing Motor Show next week, a vehicle based on the Q3 that previews a high-performance production model.
The Audi RS Q3 Concept uses a 2.5-litre 5-cylinder TFSI engine which combines direct injection with turbocharging and produces 360 HP (265 kW). This engine is linked to the car’s permanent all-wheel drive system via a 7-speed S tronic transmission which redistribute forces to the rear axle via a hydraulic
multi-plate clutch when slip is detected.
Audi claims that the RS Q3 concept is capable or accelerating from 0 to 100 Km/h (62 mph) in 5.2 seconds and that its top speed is 265 Km/h (164.66 mph).
On the outside the RS Q3 distinguishes itself from the regular Q3 due to its single frame radiator grille with new geometry black inserts, the new front bumper with the large air intakes, the slightly tined headlights, and the rear bumper which now features new edges and integrates a new diffuser and two oval exhaust pipes.
The Audi RS Q3 also features uniquely designed alloy wheels (20 inches in size) in connection with a lowered suspension (-25 mm), a blue coat finish and a large glass roof.
On the inside the dominant color is cool black, which is used on the roofliner, floor carpet, floor mats, leather-upholstered instrument panel and on large areas of the seat upholstery, but the automaker has also used a little bit of blue as well in order to create a nice contrasting effect.
