The Audi R8 facelift version is expected to become available sometime in 2012, with the company’s engineers already seeking ways of dialing up performance on the upcoming engines that will only be available with 7-speed dual clutch transmissions.
Based on initial info, the V8 engine powering the entry-level Audi R8 will reach 450 HP while the Lamborghini sourced V10 powering the more potent model will also benefit from a 15 HP increase. This meas the Audi R8 V10 will produce 540 HP.
GT and GT Spyder versions Audi R8 are also expected to be on the automaker’s menu, and in this case the level of performance is expected to mach the one offered by the Gallardo Superleggera, meaning 570 horses.
