Audi revealed its newest concept car at the Paris Motor Show, a vehicle called the Crosslane Coupe Concept. The angular Audi is a coupe, a convertible and a crossover, all at once.
The concept car is built around an innovative Multimaterial Space Frame made from aluminum, carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) and glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP). The result is a vehicle that weights a reasonable 3,064 pounds.
Crosslane is powered by a combination of a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine, a smaller electric motor that acts primarily as a starter and alternator and a second electric motor that adds quick to the Audi’s giddy-up.
Total system power averages out to 176 horsepower, which means that the car speeds from 0 to 62 in just 8.6 seconds. Top speed is 113 mph, electric driving range is around 85 miles and fuel consumption can be as low as 256.8 mpg Imperial, 213.8 mpg US and CO2 emissions just 26 g/km.
