The British car maker Aston Martin is about to compete in this weekend Nurburgring 24 Hour race along with a V12 Vantage GT3. The car that will go on the Green Hell is dressed in Bilstein livery and behind the wheel will be Darren Turner, Stefan Mucke, Allan Simonsen and Pedro Lamy.
Under the hood there is a 6.0 liter V12 engine tweaked to produce more than 600 horsepower and 700 Nm peek of torque. According to race regulations this class has a limit of approximately 550 horsepower.
"This remarkable race, with more than 200 starters, has grown enormously in status since we first entered a nearly standard V8 Vantage back in 2006. It is fitting that our most ambitious and competitive entry yet coincides with our centenary year, but we face a tough challenge from more than 30 world-class GT3 entries, with the German sports car manufacturers in particular represented in force", said David King, director of special project and motorsport at Aston Martin.
