The colleagues from Autocar have published a new report about the upcoming Alfa Romeo Spider. According to the Brits, the Italian roadster will go on sale in late 2015 and it will use the same platform on the next generation Mazda MX-5.

The design will be developed by Marco Tencone’s team at Fiat’s Centro Stile and by a studio in Japan. Unfortunately, Pininfarina won’t work on this project, even thought in the past the two firms have given birth to some special models.

According to some insiders, the new Alfa Romeo Spider will come with a contemporary and modern design. It will be 4 meters long and 1.7 meters wide, and will have around 1.000 – 1.100 kilograms.
