As you know, the Italian car maker Alfa Romeo has a big history of building beautiful and sporty sedans. The current lineup doesn’t reflect this pedigree with the Mito and Giulietta hatchbacks.
According to a recent report, the Italian car maker will drop the two models and will focus on developing rear and all wheel drive models.
Alfa Romeo will tie up with Maserati to develop a new modular platform that will be used to create two sedans and two crossovers. The first model will be the Giulia and it will compete against the three big German rivals (BMW 3-Series, Mercedes C-Class, Audi A4).
After that, Alfa Romeo will come into the 5-Series segment, but this model will be unveiled in 2016. In 2017 we should expect to see a BMW X1 rival, while in 2018 the BMW X3 will gain a new competitor signed by Alfa Romeo.
