Based on recent information that appeared in the British press, Abarth’s own coupe version based on the Fiat 500 will be called the Abarth Fiat 500 Speedster.
Inspiration for this project will get drawn from the 1959 Zagato Abarth 750 T model and some of the elements that will stand out are a cut-down windscreen, a new roofline and D-pillars plus a double-bubble roof for the fixed-top version.
The Abarth Fiat 500 Speedster might also feature bigger wheels and at the interior some versions could be offered without the back seats.
Under the bonnet the Abarth Fiat 500 Speedster will most probably come with the 1.4-litre T-Jet unit delivering 178 BHP, or the 1.4-litre MultAir that packs 163 BHP and 184 lb-ft of torque. and as far as acceleration the car should take around 7 seconds when sprinting from 0 to 100 Km/h.
More details with the Abarth Fiat 500 Speedster as soon as they become available.
