Ford has a big plan for the current Bronco: to run a modified one on the 2022 Baja 1000. And we did not know anything about that. Until today.
Ford officials have published the first pictures and details with a prototype called Bronco DR (Desert Racer). It is built with the guys from Multimatic and it will be seen on the next Baja 1000 event.
But there is another thing. Ford will produce 50 units for the public. The car will not be homologated for road use, so you will be able to drive it only in off-road.
The Bronco DR uses a V8 5.0 liter engine which will deliver at least 400 horsepower. There are also some suspension travel modifications and some other off-road updates. All the details will be announced soon.
