Mazda has officially revealed the 2017 Mazda CX-9 at the LA Auto Show. The Japanese model is based on the Kodo – Soul of Motion design philosophy and features a prominent front fascia, standard LED headlights, rounded fenders, a tailgate-mounted spoiler, a dual exhaust system, and 18- or 20-inch alloy wheels, depending on your preferences.
The 2017 Mazda CX-9 is shorter than the previous generation but the wheelbase has been stretched by 55 mm (2.2 inches). This change delivers more space for the passengers.
The 2017 Mazda CX-9 has a three-row interior and a 2+3+2 layout configuration. Inside the cabin we see higher-quality materials aluminum accessories, redesigned front seats and LED interior lighting. On top of the center console is the MAZDA CONNECT infotainment system which can be ordered with a seven or an eight inch display.
On the option list customers can find a 12-speaker Bose audio system, Auburn-colored Nappa leather upholstery, and authentic Japanese rosewood trim sourced from a Japanese guitar producer. If you love technology, the 2017 Mazda CX-9 can be ordered with a 4.6 inch TFT instrument cluster display.
Under the bonnet of the 2017 Mazda CX-9 is the first Skyactiv turbocharged engine. It has 2.5 liters and can deliver 250 horsepower and 420 Nm peak of torque. The engine is fitted with a six speed automatic transmission. The Japanese SUV can be ordered with a front or an all-wheel drive system.
