2016 Nissan Titan XD PRO-4X in Los Angeles

The all-new 2015 Nissan Titan XD made its world debut earlier this week at the Detroit Auto Show.  Now the same Titan XD pickup is making appearances in Southern California.  We visited the full-size pickup at the Dirt Rider/Nissan Titan Meet-up at AMA Supercross in Anaheim where the “SolarFlare Yellow” PRO-4X model was on display.
 
If you recall, the 2016 Titan XD is a complete redesign of the full-size pickup that offers a more power and capable truck for customers.  This includes the all-new turbo-diesel 5.0-liter V8 Cummings engine that provides 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque.
 
Exterior
 
The Titan XD has a stronger frame and chassis that provides higher payload and towing capabilities. Nissan included a factory gooseneck hitch option for fifth-wheel and horse trailer towing.  The PRO-4x model has a 6.5-foot-bed crew cab with a wheelbase of 151.6 inches, a new truck length for Nissan.  The bed offers plenty of room to carry off-road toys like the 2015 KTM 250 motorcycle in the photos.

Interior
 
The new Titan XD has increase cabin storages with locking storage under the second-row and storage in the center console.  There are number of power connections in the cabin – a 120-volt, 12-volt, and USB hookups.  The bird’s-eye around-view camera is new to the Titan and parking sensors.
 
Aside for the Ram 1500 Outdoorsman, the Titan Pro-4X may be a real off-roader that offers a turbo-diesel engine. However, with current gasoline prices below diesel, other gasoline-competitor options may be more interesting.  The new Nissan Titan goes on sale later 2015.
