Ford introduced today the revised Focus ST along with a new diesel engine option for the hot hatch.
Using the same styling cues as the standard Focus and as the conventional petrol Focus ST, the diesel variants is only different under the hood. Here we have the popular 2.0 turbocharged TDCI, tuned to jump from the standard 150 to 185 hp. The torque amount offered is about 400 Nm and its offered between 2000 and 2750 rpm.
The total amount of resources is enough for a 0 to 62 sprint in 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 135 mph, the equivalent of 217 km/h. As we are talking about a diesel, it is normal to expect an average consumption of just 4.4 liters100km.
The new Ford Focus ST diesel also comes with a redesigned chassis, with new front spring, new shock absorbers and new steering system. The order books will open this autumn, with first European deliveries expected in spring 2015.
