BMW has officially unveiled today the brand-new 2015 X6. The new Bavarian SAC model is scheduled to go on sale this December and in terms of design it follows the footsteps of its predecessor. On the outside, we see a more aggressive and sporty model which comes with improved aerodynamics, unique 19 inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights and automatic tailgate.
In addition, BMW will offer an M Sport version which can be distinguished by the aerodynamic body kit, a matte aluminum grille and 19 inch lightweight alloy wheels. In addition, the M version will get an upgraded interior, Adaptive M suspensions and a self-leveling rear air suspension.
Inside the cockpit, the 2015 BMW X6 features the same elements seen on the BMW models. The 2015 X6 has a sport steering wheel, Dakota leather seats and the iDrive infotainment system which works with a 10.25 inch display.
Other highlights include a dual zone climate control system, center console-mounted knee pads and a luggage compartment that can hold to 1,525 liters (53.8 cubic feet) of cargo.
"Chassis packages raise levels of sportiness and comfort, as desired. Dynamic Performance Control is offered together with Dynamic Drive active roll stabilisation as part of the Dynamic adaptive suspension package to deliver a targeted improvement in the car’s sporty handling attributes. Further enhanced ride comfort can be achieved courtesy of air suspension at the rear axle and Dynamic Damper Control, which are included in both the Comfort adaptive suspension package and Adaptive M suspension (standard on the BMW X6 M50d and part of the M Sport package for the other model variants), which also offers bespoke, sports-oriented suspension tuning", is said in the official statement.
At the launch, the 2015 BMW X6 will have three different engines. We are talking about the xDrive50i, xDrive30d and M50d.
The 2015 BMW X6 xDrive50i is featuring a 4.4 liter TwinPower Turbo V8 unit rated at 450 horsepower and 650 Nm peak of torque. Under these conditions, the Bavarian SAC can sprint from stand still to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
The 2015 BMW X6 xDrive30d is coming with the 3.0 liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder diesel engine which can deliver 258 horsepower and 650 Nm peak of torque. As a result, the car can sprint from stand still to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.
Last, but not least is the M50d which has a tri-turbo six-cylinder unit rated at 381 horsepower and 740 Nm peak of torque. Under these conditions, the run from zero to 100 km/h is done in 5.2 seconds.
In the spring of 2015, BMW will also offer the sDrive35i, xDrive35i and xDrive40d.
