Porsche took chance of this year’s Detroit Motor Show to introduce its new Cayenne Turbo S on the US market. Unveiled for the first time in autumn, the most powerful version of the Stuttgart-based SUV comes with an extra punch of 50 hp, and almost equals the V8 engine of its main rival, the BMW X5 M.

Power for the 2014 Porsche Cayenne S Turbo comes from a 4.8 liter twin-turbocharged engine making 550-hp. This amount of power allows the Cayenne S Turbo to go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 175 mph.

The car is also equipped with Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and the Sport Chrono package as standard.

Along with the extra power comes some design touches including larger front air intakes, standard 21-inch 911 Turbo II wheels with colored Porsche badge, high-gloss black accents and  dual twin-tube sport tailpipes.

Porsche has priced the new Cayenne S Turbo from $146,000 and can be already ordered.
