The German car manufacturer Opel has unveiled the 2014 Astra MY. The new model looks identical to its predecessor but it will feature a new engine and upgraded technologies.
According to Opel officials, the 2014 Astra can now be ordered with a 1.6 liter CDTI unit that offers 136 horsepower and 320 Nm peak of torque.

Under these conditions, the German hatchback can sprint from stand still to 100 km/h in 10.3 seconds, while the top speed is clocked at 200 km/h. More than that, the German officials are announcing an average fuel consumption of just 3.9 liter per 100 kilometer and CO2 emissions of 104 grams per kilometer.

Inside the cabin, the 2014 Opel Astra features the new IntelliLink infotainment system. It uses a seven inch touch screen display to "talk" with the driver or passengers. The entry-level of the 2014 Astra comes with a CS player and Bluetooth/USB/AUX connectivity. 

The very rapid and precisely reacting navigation system comes as standard with the Navi 650 IntelliLink and Navi 950 IntelliLink. The top variant Navi 950 IntelliLink covers the whole of Europe with its maps and destinations can be entered without a problem via voice control. Furthermore, the radio automatically recognizes music titles, albums and artists through audio devices with a USB connection Via USB and Aux-In Astra drivers and passengers can be shown pictures on the color display. In addition, incoming text messages can be read out.

More than that, the customers will be able to order the new Active package. It includes LED daytime running lights, cloth / leather seats, Piano Black accessories and entry-level IntelliLink infotainment system.
