At the begining of this year, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show the GLA Concept, a prototype that previews an upcoming rival for the Audi Q3 or the BMW X1. Today, the German car manufacturer has published a couple of sketches with the production version of the GLA. According to the same statement, the production version of the Mercedes-Benz GLA will be officially unveiled this fall at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The sketches were published on the Facebook official page with this description below: "Something’s coming. Stay tuned!"

On the outside, the German crossover is heavily inspired by the A-Class. It only comes with new bulging fenders, tailgate mounted spoiler and two bar grille. Inside the cabin, everything is identical to the A-Class. Under the hood, the engine lineup will be, of course, the same with the one found on the A-Class hatchback.

According to some rumors, the upcoming GLA crossover will also get a performance version. It will be dubbed GLA45 AMG and it will come with the turbocharged 2.0 liter four cylinder engine that can develop 360 horsepower.
