Honda has unveiled today the all-new ARX-04b LMP2 Coupe. The racing car was jointly developed by Honda Performance Development and Wirth Research and according to Honda officials, it is fully compliant with ACO LMP2 regulations. 

In addition, the model exceeds the latest safety standards of the new enclosed-cockpit configuration. Furthermore, the 2014 Honda ARX-04b LMP2 racing model comes with Quick Change body panels, an optimized transmission and a refueling safety interlock system that promises to make pit stops safer. 

Under the hood of the 2014 Honda ARX-04b LMP2 is featuring a twin turbo 2.8 liter V6 unit. For now, the Japanese car manufacturer hasn’t disclosed the performance specifications but they have confirmed that the car will come with a new drive-by-wire throttle system and a fresh air valve system.

The ARX-04b will be offered to customer racing teams next year and will be eligible to compete in IMSA, WEC, ELMS and Asian Le Mans Series events.
