Applus+Idiada, a Spanish engineering company has created an electric supercar that will make its official debut at the 83rd edition of the Geneva Motor Show. Dubbed Volar-E the electric supercar was design and built with the help of the Croatian firm Rimac.
The development process took only three months during which they have created a lightweight carbon fiber body, a tubular chassis made by chrome and molybdenum and the battery pack.
According to the Spanish officials, the battery system will have a 38 kWh capacity and is borrowed from Rimac Concept One. The power is provided by four electric motors that can generate a total output of 800 hp (596 kW) and 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) of torque.
For those of you who can’t wait until the Geneva Motor Show opens, the Spanish firm will reveal the 2013 Volar-E this Friday at the Circuit de Catalunya.
