The Dutch from Autoblog.nl have come across an image from a media event that indicates the 2013 Porsche Boxster S has lapped the Nurburgring in 7 minutes 58 seconds.
If this is true then the new Boxster S is a seriously engineered car because with just a few extra horses over the previous version it has managed to become faster than the Corvette C6, Viper SRT-10 or C63 AMG Coupe.
The new Boxster S is also about 12 seconds faster than its predecessor, but still 18 seconds slower than the 911.
As a reminder the 2013 Porsche Boxster S uses a 3.4-litre flat-six unit producing 315 HP and 360 Nm of torque, which in terms of performance translate into 5.1 seconds from 0 to 62 mph and a top speed of 173 mph.
