Details design sketches with the 2012 Opel Calibra have started to circulate around the Internet in the last few weeks, and now we have info on a new Insignia based variant, the Calibra Coupe, which is expected to debut in 2013.
Measuring around 4.8 meters from one end to the other, the 2013 Opel Calibra Cabrio will come as an alternative to the Audi A5 and BMW 3 Series, with a platform based on the Opel GTC concept unveiled in Geneva in 2007.
Under the bonnet the 2013 Opel Calibra Cabrio will most probably be fitted with the 2.8-litre V6 Trubo engine found on the Insignia OPC, which means it will pack 325 horses, together with 4×4 traction on the range topping variant.
The 2013 Opel Calibra Cabrio could also mark the company’s return to DTM, previously won on ’96.
